WHITEVILLE – Former East Bladen star Freddy Wooten struck out all 6 batters that he faced Tuesday but his Southeastern Community College Rams dropped an 11-1 decision to Brunswick Community College.

Wooten’s 2 perfect innings came in relief after Brunswick had scored 11 runs in the first 3 innings. Sunday, Wooten pitched a hitless, scoreless inning of relief and struck out one in a 4-1 loss at Lenoir Community College.

At the plate this week, Wooten singled and had an RBI in the Sunday loss to Lenoir, and singled, stole a base and scored in Saturday’s 9-7 loss to Lenoir. Wednesday, Wooten doubled and scored twice in a doubleheader at Brunswick Community. In a series finale win at Bryant & Stratton, Wooten doubled and drove in a run.

Brady Hollingsworth, Wooten’s teammate at East Bladen, singled and drove in a run against Lenoir. Against Brunswick in the 2nd game of Wednesday’s doubleheader, Hollingsworth hammered 2 doubles and drove in 3 runs.

Southeastern begins their final series of the regular season Friday at noon with a doubleheader at Pitt Community College.
