CLINTON – Senior Maya McDonald recorded a triple-double of 18 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists to lead East Bladen to a 74-40 Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ basketball victory over Clinton Wednesday night.

East Bladen freshman Iveonna “NeNe” Ward poured in 23 points to lead all scorers and collected 3 steals and 3 rebounds. Senior Alexus Mitchell fired in 18 points, dished out 6 assists and was credited with 7 steals. Junior Maegan Burney dropped in 6 points, pulled down 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.

Lady Eagle junior AnnaGrey Heustess tossed in 5 points and snared 4 rebounds. Freshman Laila Smith finished with 4 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Sophomore Zoe Smith and freshman Martha Simmons grabbed 2 rebounds each.

East Bladen rolled to an early 20-6 lead and padded the margin to 40-22 at halftime and 56-36 after 3 periods.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles improved to 9-2 in SAC-7 play and are 20-2 overall. East Bladen will host Clinton on Senior Night Friday.
