ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen’s Lady Eagles clinched the Three Rivers Conference regular-season championship Tuesday night with a 79-51 girls basketball victory over South Robeson.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles stretched their winning streak to 17 games in a row and improved to 16-1 in league play and 21-1 overall.

Five different East Bladen players scored in double figures topped by junior Erica McKoy who fired in 17 points, dished out 6 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds and had 3 steals.

Sophmore Patience Ward posted a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds and also collected 7 steals and 3 assists. Senior Shardajah Brown pumped in 10 points, pulled down 8 rebounds and had 2 assists.

Junior Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson tossed in 10 points, was credited with 6 assists and corralled 5 rebounds. Junior Anna Kate White racked up 10 points. Junior Ashley Hardin tallied 8 points and contributed 6 rebounds and 5 steals.

Sophmore Dajah Monroe led all scorers for South Robeson with 19 points.

The Lady Eagles host rival West Bladen Friday on Senior Night.
