BLADENBORO — Fairmont raced to leads of 14-2 and 26-4 enroute to a 51-16 Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ basketball victory over West Bladen Friday night.

Myasia Simms, a 5-11 senior, worked the paint for 13 points to lead the Lady Tornado scoring. Six-foot junior Taniya Simms added 10 points. Junior Miah Smith also tallied 10 points, and junior Niah Smith followed with 6 points.

Sophomore Kali Allen nailed a trio of 3-point shots in the 2nd half and topped the Lady Knight scoring with 9 points. Senior Mallory Bryan tossed in a 1st quarter basket and sank a pair of 4th period free throws to finish with 4 points for West.

Senior Kiera Lewis threw in a 2nd quarter basket, and junior Alina Chavez netted a final period free throw for the other West points.

Fairmont remains atop the SAC with a 4-0 record and are 16-2 overall. West Bladen, now 0-4 in the SAC and 4-9 overall, will visit Red Springs Tuesday night.
