BLADENBORO — An 11-0 Fairmont 3rd quarter spurt broke open a 15-13 game and produced a 26-13 lead and eventual 33-25 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee basketball victory for the Tornadoes over West Bladen Friday night.

Tariq L. threw in a trio of baskets during the run and finished with 7 points for Fairmont. Jacob M. fired in 5 of his team-high 9 points during the decisive spurt.

Damarion Bryant and Keonta Hill dropped in 1st quarter baskets to keep West within 6-4. Jamari Adams bombed in a 3-point goal and another basket in the 2nd period for the Knights. Bryant threw in 2 more buckets as West stayed within 15-13 at halftime.

Bryant buried a 3-point shot and another basket in the final quarter for West. Adams drained another 3-ball, and Hill and Justin Spaulding netted baskets.

Bryant led all scorers with 11 points for the Knights. Adams rang up 8 points, and Hill added 4.

West Bladen, now 2-2 in the SAC and 5-7 overall, will visit Red Springs Tuesday night.
