West Bladen High School LogoROWLAND – Junior center Nytia Lewis racked up a triple double of 18 points, 16 blocks and 12 rebounds Tuesday night to lead South Robeson to a 50-37 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball victory over West Bladen.

Lewis and guard Telia Page threw in 2 baskets each in the first quarter as the Lady Mustangs edged ahead 10-9. Senior Elizabeth Allbright dropped in 3 baskets for West Bladen in the opening period, and sophmore Seniah Johnson bombed in a 3-point shot.

Sophmore Zaneta Ellerbee pumped in 2 baskets in the second period to keep South up 18-14 at halftime. Senior Patience Parker hit 2 free throws, and senior teammate Chasitty Lacey tossed in a basket for West in the quarter.

Lewis powered in two baskets and canned 2 free throws in the third period as South Robeson opened up a 33-23 lead. Allbright fired in a trio of baskets for West Bladen, and junior Conner Brisson added a bucket.

Allbright tossed in 2 more baskets in the final period, Lacey buried a 3-point shot, and Parker netted a basket and a free throw.

Lewis popped in two baskets and two free throws in the final quarter, and Page chipped in with 2 baskets and a free throw. Teammate Tehya Bullard added a basket and 2 free throws as South Robeson held on for the win.

Allbright scored a career-high 16 points for the Lady Knights. Lacey finished with 6 points, and Parker tallied 5 points.

Free throw shooting plagued the Lady Knights as they made only 5 of 22 attempts. South Robeson missed 10 of their first 13 foul shots, but regrouped and made 7 of 10 free throws in the final quarter.

West Bladen will host Whiteville Friday night.
