LUMBERTON – Seniors Aydan Bullard and Emerson Gist scored 1st half goals that lifted Lumberton to a 2-0 non-conference girls’ soccer victory over West Bladen Monday night.
Seniors Kaden Thurman and Lainey Autry and sophomore Jazmy Funez Aranda had shots on goal for the Lady Knights.
Senior Eva Ayala-Martinez sparked the Lady Knight defensive effort with 22 steals. Sophomore Ashley Sanchez-Resendiz piled up 18 steals, freshman Makenna Thurman racked up 13 steals for West, and her sister Kaden finished with 11 steals. Funez Aranda totaled 9 steals.
Junior Briana Carranza Toledo was credited with 9 saves in goal for the Lady Knights.
West Bladen, now 3-10, will be off for the Easter vacation and return to action on April 18 when they host Red Springs.
