BLADENBORO – North Brunswick scored 4 goals in each half and defeated West Bladen 8-1 Wednesday night in non-conference girls’ soccer action.
The Lady Knights, now 2-8-3, will travel to East Bladen Monday night. North Brunswick improved to 5-12-1 and will be at Topsail Friday night.
Junior Anna Campbell knocked in the Lady Knights’ goal off an assist from sophomore Leidi Zuniga Labra in the 2nd half. Zuniga Labra and senior Brookee’ Singletary also fired off shots for West.
Freshman Lydia Harris was credited with 14 saves in goal for the Lady Knights.
Sophomore Makenna Thurman sparked the defense with 9 steals. Junior O’Mara McDonald finished with 7 steals. Campbell and sophomore Faith Wren followed with 6 steals each. Singletary came up with 5 steals, and junior Haleigh Seabolt and freshman Ashley Baiza Rivon had 4 steals each.
