FAIRMONT – Midway bounced back from dropping their 1st match of the season last week to post a 329 total and win Monday’s Southeastern Athletic Conference golf match at Fairmont Golf Course by 17 strokes over Clinton.

West Bladen, which won last week’s match, finished 3rd with a 353 total. Red Springs (409) and Fairmont (417) rounded out the field. St. Pauls’ only had 1 golfer playing Monday and wasn’t eligible for the team competition.

Midway’s Dakota Bedard fired an 80 to edge teammates Kaison Marley and Jonathan Stephenson by one stroke for medalist honors. Clinton’s Finn Howard placed 4th with an 82. West Bladen’s Seth Faircloth and Clinton’s Brock Sumner carded 84’s and tied for 5th place. Knight golfer Daniel Gustafson was 9th with an 88.

Other Knight golfers competing and their scores were: Ben Davis (90), Nolan Sessoms (91) and Colin Britt (98).

Next week’s SAC match will be played Monday at Vineyard Golf at White Lake.
