CERRO GORDO – Mahki Cromartie pitched five strong innings, and East Bladen pounded out 13 hits en route to an 18-3 Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball victory Thursday over West Columbus.

Cromartie struck out eight and allowed only 4 hits to pick up the win. Drew Sholar pitched a hitless sixth inning of relief.

The Vikings bunched singles by Byran McNair and James Smith, a walk and Ian Williamson’s rbi double to score all 3 of their runs in the first inning and take a 3-0 lead.

Freshman Raymond Autry and sophmore Rasean McKoy opened the Eagle second inning with singles. Both Autry and Rasean McKoy raced home as Cromartie reached base on an error.

After freshman Chase Starkloff drew a walk, an error on Jay McKoy’s grounder plated Cromartie and Starkloff. Tyler Hill knocked in Jay McKoy with a single to centerfield as East took a 5-3 lead.

Autry and Rasean McKoy belted singles to begin the Eagle third inning, and Autry dashed home on Sholar’s sacrifice fly for a 6-3 lead. Starkloff lined a single to left to start the East fourth inning and darted home when Hill clobbered a double to leftfield. Dylan Fine reached base on an error, before Hill stole home on a double steal.

Dylan Fine scored as Autry reached base on an error. Rasean McKoy smacked a single, and Sholar hammered a double to rightfield that scored Dylan Fine and Rasean McKoy and stretched the Eagle lead to 11-3.

Jay McKoy ripped a single to centerfield in the fifth inning, and Hill smashed a double to left. Dylan Fine’s fielder’s choice plated Jay McKoy, and Rasean McKoy swatted a single to right that scored Hill to widen the gap to 13-3.

Sophmore Jacob Priest walked, and Cromartie cracked a single to begin the Eagle sixth. Brandon Fine reached base on an error as Priest scored. Jay McKoy walked, and Hill was hit by a pitch to force home Cromartie.

Dylan Fine walked to force home Brandon Fine. Jay McKoy and Hill both sprinted home on the same wild pitch to push the final margin to 18-3.

Rasean McKoy batted a perfect 4-4 with a run batted in and 2 runs scored to lead the Eagle hitters. Hill finished 3-4 at the plate with 2 doubles, 3 rbi’s and 3 runs scored. Autry batted 2-4 with an rbi and 3 runs scored.

Sholar doubled and drove in 3 runs. Starkloff, Cromartie and Jay McKoy added one hit each. Jay McKoy scored 3 runs, and Cromartie and Starkloff scored 2 runs each. Cromartie and Dylan Fine drove in 2 runs each.

The Eagles improved to 2-0 and will host Wallace-Rose Hill Friday in a non-conference game.
