RED SPRINGS – Sophomore Garrison Carr pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 6 batters to lead West Bladen to an 8-3 non-conference jayvee baseball victory over Red Springs Wednesday.

Carr smacked a single off of the pitcher that scored freshman Nolan Tatum, the courtesy runner for Norris. Moore darted home on a passed ball to pad the West Bladen lead to 4-0.

Carr was hit by a pitch in the 3rd inning, and freshman Jordan Hester walked. Freshman Will Durden, the courtesy runner for Carr, and Hester both came around to score on a pair of wild pitches that extended the Knight lead to 6-0.

A walk and an error produced a Red Devil run in the home third, but Revels drilled a double in the West Bladen 4th inning. Tatum raked a single past 3rd base, and Moore was hit by a pitch. Revels dashed home as Moore reached base on an error. Tatum raced home on a fielder’s choice as the Knight lead grew to 8-1.

A walk, T. Locklear’s double, an infield out and a wild pitch plated a pair of Red Springs runs in the home fourth.

Revels doubled and scored twice to lead the Knight hitters. Underwood, Tatum, Carr, Durden and sophomore Aaron Wren connected for one hit each for the winners. Tatum scored 2 runs, and Underwood, Moore, Hester and Durden scored 1 run each. Moore and Carr drove in 1 run each.

T. Hammonds struck out 8 batters but allowed all 8 runs on 6 hits and was the losing pitcher for Red Springs.
