BURGAW – Dashawn Campbell and Khalil McKoy teamed up to score 29 points Friday and lead East Bladen to a 46-38 Waccamaw Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over Pender.

Campbell blistered the nets with 5 baskets in the 2nd half and topped the Eagle scoring with 16 points. Khalil McKoy fired in a trio of 3-point shots in the 1st half and scored 11 of his 13 points before intermission.

Campbell tossed in a trio of baskets in the opening half, and teammate Torrean Cogdell pumped in 2 baskets and a free throw. Kyran McKoy popped in a pair of baskets, Braylon Cromartie buried a 3-ball, and Sheldon Melvin and Khalil McKoy added baskets as the Eagles built a 31-17 lead.

Cromartie sank 2 free throws in the 2nd half, Kyran McKoy hit one and Khalil McKoy flipped in another basket to go with Campbell’s 10 points as East pulled out the win.

Jaheim Lambe rang up all of his 15 points in the 2nd half for Pender. Teammate Zaquan Murphy tallied 9 points.

The jayvee Eagles remained unbeaten in Waccamaw play with a 3-0 overall record and are 5-4 overall. East Bladen will travel to Heide Trask Tuesday.
