ROCKY POINT – Chace Butler fired in 12 points to lead East Bladen to a 47-38 non-conference jayvee boys’ basketball victory over Heide Trask Wednesday night.

The Eagles jumped in front early as Kewone Maynor threw in 3 baskets, and Shannon Hankins buried a 3-point shot. Butler and Malikah Moore added buckets for a 13-9 East lead.

Keyshawn Kemp poured in 4 baskets in the 2nd quarter for the Eagles. Butler flipped in 2 more buckets, and Moore and Tevin McLean scored to push the lead to 29-18 at halftime.

McLean and Moore rang up a basket each, and Maynor hit 2 free throws to keep East up 35-23 at the 3rd quarter break. Butler burnt the nets with 3 more baskets in the final period, and Hankins and Sherman Long bombed in 3-point shots.

Maynor and Kemp finished with 8 points each for East Bladen. Moore and Hankins followed with 6 points each. Dru Hansen led Trask with 14 points.

Coach Aking Elting’s Eagles remained undefeated at 6-0 and will travel to Whiteville Friday night.
