ROSEBORO – Cameron Williams pumped in 10 of his 12 points in the 1st half to lead Lakewood to a 24-15 halftime lead en route to a 43-35 non-conference jayvee boys basketball victory over West Bladen Wednesday night.
Freshman Cade Allen fired in a 3-point shot and another basket to keep the Knights within 8-5 at the 1st quarter break. Allen threw in a basket and a free throw in the 2nd period, and teammate Cornelius Esters drained a 3-point shot and a free throw to keep West within 24-15.
Allen bombed in two more 3-balls in the 2nd half and led all scorers with 14 points. Esters nailed a 3-point shot, another basket and a foul shot after halftime to finish with 10 points. Conner Monroe sank 2 free throws and a basket in the 2nd half for the Knights and totaled 6 points for the game.
Nakai Owens followed Williams with 9 points for the Leopards, and Cooper Ivey added 8.
The Knights will host West Columbus Friday at 4:30.
