ST PAULS – St. Pauls raced to a 25-8 halftime lead en route to a 40-29 Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over West Bladen Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs grabbed a 14-5 first period lead. Josiah Brown fired in a 3-point shot and another basket for the Knights in the quarter. Keshawn Ballard buried a 3-point shot in the second period for West.
Javontae Matthews lit up the scoreboard with 4 Knight baskets in the third quarter. Brown tossed in a basket, and Aaron Thompson drilled in a 3-point shot to keep the Knights within 37-21.
Matthews threw in a 3-point shot, another basket and a free throw in the final quarter and led the Knight scoring with 14 points. Brown netted a basket in the fourth period and finished with 9 points for West Bladen.
The Knights, now 3-6, will host South Columbus Friday night.
