RED SPRINGS – West Bladen rallied from an early 10-3 deficit with a 17-2 blitz that propelled the Knights to a 27-22 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys victory over Red Springs Friday.

Connor Monroe bombed in a 3-point shot for the only Knight points in the 1st period, but West reeled off 8 straight points in the 2nd quarter. Monroe popped in 2 more baskets, and center Tyleak Ballard and Noah Hall added a basket each to edge the Knights ahead 11-10 at halftime.

Cade Allen drained a 3-point shot, and Elijah McCollum, Hall and Ballard threw in baskets in the 3rd period as the Knight lead grew to 20-12. Monroe, Allen and Hall pumped in baskets in the final quarter, and Ballard made a free throw.

Khalif Brown led the Red Devil scoring with 8 points.

Coach Matt Hill’s Knights, now 2-2 in SAC-7 play and 5-6 overall, will travel to St. Pauls Tuesday.
