BLADENBORO – West Bladen built a 26-14 halftime lead then held on for a narrow 36-35 victory over Clinton Tuesday in their Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys’ basketball opener.

Keonta Hill bombed in a 3-point shot and added 2 more baskets to spark the Knights to an 11-6 1st quarter lead. Damarion Bryant and Jamari Adams netted a basket each for West in the period.

Bryant blistered the nets with a 3-pointer and 2 other baskets in the 2nd quarter. Adams filled up the rims with 3 more baskets, and teammate JaQuan Lesane tossed in a basket to grow the lead to 26-14.

Adams flipped in another basket in the 3rd quarter, and Bryant drained a 3-point shot and a free throw to keep West up 32-24. Keonta Hill and Bryant pumped in baskets in the final period as the Knights pulled out the win.

Bryant topped the West scoring with 15 points. Adams fired in 10 points, and Keonta Hill followed with 9 points.

Taylen Moore led Clinton with 12 points, and James Sinclair totaled 10 points.

Coach Joe Harris’ Knights, now 4-5, will visit Midway Friday.
