ELIZABETHTOWN – Torrean Cogdell returned a kick-off 75 yards for the winning touchdown with 1:07 remaining as East Bladen rallied for a 24-21 non-conference junior varsity football victory over South Columbus Thursday night.
South Columbus had just scored to retake the lead when Cogdell broke loose on his winning touchdown return.
Quarterback Aiden Hargrove threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Khalil McKoy for one Eagle touchdown and tossed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Jaamir Stephens for another East touchdown.
Keyshawn Kemp caught a 2-point conversion pass from Hargrove, and Cole Butler scored a 2-point conversion on a pass from Hargrove.
The Eagles, now 1-1, will travel to Whiteville Thursday night.
