BLADENBORO – Unbeaten South Columbus improved to 6-0 Thursday night with a 3-0 non-conference volleyball victory over West Bladen by set scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-19.
Junior Jena McLean piled up 8 service points and an ace and was credited with 5 assists for West. Senior Kylie Durden smoked in 4 aces, 4 other service points and had 4 digs. Senior Kaitlyn Brisson hammered in 5 blocks and 3 kills.
Senior Emily Young poured in 4 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace, another service point and had 3 assists and a dig for West Bladen. Junior Trinity Meares slammed in 3 blocks, 2 kills and a service point. Junior Maddie Walters pounded in 3 kills.
Senior Makayla Wright knocked in 2 kills and a service point for the Lady Knights. Senior Whitney McLean added an ace, a kill and a block, and sophomore Alina Chavez belted in 1 kill.
The Lady Knights, now 1-3, will host East Columbus Monday.
