BLADENBORO – A 17-2 third-quarter spurt propelled Fairmont to a 35-13 Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball victory over West Bladen Tuesday.
Alexandria Perez threw in a basket and a free throw in the opening period, and freshman Hannah Pait tossed in a basket to keep the Lady Knights within 7-5 at the quarter break.
Pait sank a free throw in the second quarter, but the Fairmont lead grew to 13-6. Kylee Ward and Anniya Phillips made a free throw each in the third period for the Lady Knights.
Pait dropped in a basket and a free throw in the final quarter and led the Lady Knight scoring with 6 points. Teammate Kia Blackwell-Lewis added a basket for West Bladen in the fourth period.
West Bladen will travel to Red Springs Friday.
