BLADENBORO – West Bladen’s defense shutout West Columbus 22-0 Friday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball action.
Freshman Makayla Wright tossed in a basket and a free throw, and Azillyah McDonald, Fabiola Sandoval and Anniya Phillips threw in a basket each as the Lady Knights built a 9-0 halftime lead.
McDonald pumped in a pair of third period baskets, and Phillips and Xia Phair dropped in baskets as the lead grew to 17-0. Sandoval and Kristen Warrick connected for baskets in the final quarter.
McDonald led the West Bladen scoring with 7 points, and Sandoval and Phillips added 4 points each.
West Bladen, now 3-4, will travel to St. Pauls Tuesday.
