ELIZABETHTOWN – Whiteville built a 12-7 lead en route to a 20-16 Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball victory over East Bladen Friday.

The Lady Eagles closed to within 18-16 at the third quarter break, but Whiteville scored the only points in the final period.

Mariah Smith and Brianna Phillips shared scoring honors for East Bladen with 5 points each, and Lavada Jackson added 4 points.

East Bladen, now 4-4 in league play and 5-4 overall, will entertain Midway Wednesday.
