BLADENBORO – East Bladen defeated West Bladen 2-0 Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 25-9 and 25-23.

Junior Adrienne Howell opened the first set with a trio of service points, and junior Shanell McMillian pushed the Lady Eagles in front 7-4 with a trio of service points.

Freshman Merritt Martin fired in 7 straight service points to stretch the lead to 18-9, and sophmore Cheylee Mathis served out the set with 6 consecutive service points.

A trio of Mathis service points staked East Bladen to an early 4-1 lead in Set 2. Ashlyn Cox answered with a pair of service points, and freshman Hannah Pait knocked in 4 service points to edge West in front 9-8.

Freshman Alyssa Futrell responded with 7 straight service points to vault East into a 16-11 lead. Two more Cox service points brought West to within 19-18, but McMillian delivered a pair of service points for a 24-20 East lead.

Mathis led the Lady Eagles with 9 service points, 5 aces, a kill, a block and a dig. Futrell slammed in 7 service points, 5 aces, 3 kills and a block. Martin posted 7 service points, 3 aces and a kill.

McMillian hammered in 4 aces and 6 service points. Howell smacked in 5 service points, 2 aces and 2 kills. Sophmore Cheyanne Merritt contributed a kill, an ace and a dig.

Hannah Pait blasted in 6 kills, 6 service points and an ace to lead the Lady Knights. Freshman Kylee Ward drilled in an ace and 4 service points. Olivia Allen sparked the West defense with 6 digs.

Freshman Lauren Pait finished with 3 digs and a service point for West Bladen. Haleigh Fields spiked in 2 kills. Caroline Brisson collected 2 digs and a service point.

Sophmore Alyssa Suggs came up with 2 digs, and Cox added a service point, an ace and a kill. Taylor West had one kill and a dig.
