WILMINGTON – Lacey Suggs filled up the stat sheet with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals Sunday as her UNC-Wilmington Seahawks defeated Northeastern 83-70 in Colonial Athletic Association action.

The visitors had sliced a 58-42 UNC-W lead to 66-60 with 6:27 left to play, but Suggs contributed 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals during a 16-3 Seahawk run that sealed the verdict.

Friday night the White Lake junior fired in 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds as the Seahawks rolled past Hofstra 89-54.

The two victories moved UNC-Wilmington into third place in the CAA with a 6-3 league record and 13-7 overall mark.

Suggs is averaging 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds while starting all 20 games for the Seahawks. Connecting on 6 of her 8 field goal attempts in Sunday’s victory raised the East Bladen grad’s field goal percentage to 49.4.

UNC-Wilmington will host Elon Friday at 7 p.m.
