East Bladen grad Lacey Suggs scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds Friday night as her UNC-Wilmington Lady Seahawks closed out their regular season with a 66-62 victory over College of Charleston.

Suggs connected on 5 of 6 free throws and dropped in a fast-break lay-up in the second quarter as the Lady Seahawks rallied from 8 points down to take a 27-24 halftime lead. The White Lake native tossed in a pair of lay-ups early in the third period to keep UNCW on top 34-30.

The victory lifted UNC-Wilmington into a 3-way tie in the Colonial Athletic Association final standings with Towson and Delaware. The Lady Seahawks received the No. 3 seed due to a victory over regular-season champ James Madison.

UNC-Wilmington finished 11-7 in the CAA and 18-11 overall and will play No. 6 seed Northeastern Thursday night at 7:30 at the University of Delaware.
