BLADENBORO – Deonte Lacy and Gary Parker combined for 27 points Thursday night as Bladenboro outlasted Clarkton School of Discovery 50-48 in double overtime in Bladen Five Middle School Conference boys basketball action.

Ricky Brisson tossed in a basket and a free throw for the Bulldogs in the second overtime. Parker dropped in a basket, Deonte Lacy sank 2 free throws, and Bryley Williams hit a free throw as Bladenboro outscored the Blue Devils 8-6 in the period.

Samaj Dove connected on 3 free throws for Clarkton in the second overtime, Lamont Pridgen made 2 foul shots, and Travail Baldwin hit one.

Lacy topped all scorers with 16 points for the Bulldogs. Parker finished with 11 points, and Brisson and Williams scored 6 points each.

Anthony McGill led the Blue Devils with 13 points, and Nyquan Richardson followed with 11 points, Dove and Pridgen totaled 7 points each.

Pridgen and McGill hurled in a basket and 2 free throws each for the Blue Devils in the first quarter, and Dove sank 2 foul shots as the visitors edged in front 10-9.

Lacy pumped in 2 baskets and 2 free throws for the Bulldogs in the quarter, Brycen Blackmon popped in a basket, and Anthony Mitchell added a free throw.

Parker nailed a 3-point shot and 4 of 5 free throws in the second quarter to key a 17-6 Bulldog spurt that produced a 26-16 halftime lead.

Blackmon buried a 3-point shot, Lacy delivered a basket and a free throw, and Brisson and Williams contributed a basket each.

Donnie Ezzell hurled in a second-period basket for the Blue Devils, Richardson canned 2 free throws, and Pridgen and Javius Brooks hit one each.

McGill sparked a Clarkton third period rally with 2 baskets and a free throw. Dove and Richardson added baskets as the Blue Devils trimmed the margin to 30-25.

Mitchell and Jaylen Newkirk scored baskets for the Bulldogs in the third period.

The Clarkton rally continued in the fourth quarter as Richardson drained a 3-point shot and another basket. McGill hurled in 2 baskets, and Robert McKoy pumped in a basket and a free throw as the Blue Devils tied the game.

Lacy powered in a basket and a free throw, Parker sank 2 free throws, and Williams and Brisson added a free throw each to get the Bulldogs to overtime tied 37-37.

Williams and Lacy knocked down 2 free throws each in the first overtime, and Mitchell made one foul shot for the Bulldogs.

Brooks drilled in a 3-point shot, and Richardson banged in a basket to get the Blue Devils to the second overtime tied 42-42.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 with the victory. The Blue Devils are now 2-2 on the season.
