Guard Shy’Ron Adams fired in 20 points to lead Bladenboro to a 59-38 Bladen Five Middle School Conference boys basketball victory at East Arcadia Wednesday.

Jake Butler worked the paint for 3 first-period baskets, and guard Logan West nailed a 3-point shot for the Bulldogs. An Adams bucket gave Bladenboro an 11-8 lead.

Sterling Thomas pumped in a couple of first period baskets for the Panthers, and teammate Kasey Price threw in a basket and 2 free throws.

Adams and Nolan Bryant tossed in 2 baskets each for Bladenboro in the second period. Adams and guard Da’Shawn Hines hit free throws, and West added a basket as the Bulldogs built a 23-15 halftime lead.

Charles Brown dropped in 2 baskets for the Panthers in the second quarter. Teammate Corey Carter scored a basket, and Price made a free throw.

Adams lit up the scoreboard with 2 baskets and 3 free throws in the third period. West drained a 3-point shot and a free throw, and Hines netted 2 baskets as Bladenboro pulled away with a 19-11 surge.

Forward Austin Smith canned 2 free throws, and Butler banged in another basket as the Bulldog lead grew to 42-26.

Brown poured in 4 baskets for the Panthers in the third period, and Price flipped in a basket and a free throw.

Adams popped in 3 baskets in the final quarter, and West, Bryant, Tyrese Retamar, J. P. Russ, and Joshua Lewis scored one basket each in the quarter, and Lewis tacked on a free throw.

Price connected for 3 free throws and a basket in the final quarter for the Panthers. Thomas and Luis Castellanos threw in baskets, Dixon hit 2 free throws, and Carter made one.

West finished with 11 points for the Bulldogs, and Butler followed with 8 points. Bryant totaled 6 points, and Hines added 5 points.

Price topped the East Arcadia scoring with 13 points, and Brown racked up 12 points. Thomas followed with 6 points.

The Panthers connected on 12 of 21 free throws, and Bladenboro made 9 of their 12 attempts.

Bladenboro finishes the regular season with a 5-3 record. East Arcadia will travel to Tar Heel Thursday for a 5 p.m. game.
