CLARKTON – Samaj Dove and Robert McKoy returned kick-offs for touchdowns to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 40-22 Bladen Five Middle School Conference football victory over Bladenboro Tuesday night.

Dove raced 70 yards with the opening kick-off to put the Blue Devils ahead 6-0. Anthony McGill scooted 30 yards for the second CSD touchdown of the quarter.

Jaylin Newkirk ran for the first Bladenboro touchdown then carried into the end zone for the 2-point conversion to keep the Bulldogs within 12-8 at the quarter break.

McKoy received the kick-off and dashed 60 yards for a Clarkton touchdown. Later in the quarter Nyquan Richardson recovered a teammate’s fumble in the end zone to stretch the Blue Devil lead to 24-8 at halftime.

Devon Strange scored a Bulldog touchdown to begin the third quarter and slice the lead to 24-14.

McKoy sprinted 55 yards for his second touchdown then ran the 2-point conversion that extended the lead to 32-14.

Newkirk scored his second touchdown for the Bulldogs early in the final period. Newkirk then dashed into the end zone for his second 2-point conversion that narrowed the gap to 32-22.

McGill darted 20 yards for the final Clarkton touchdown, and McKoy then scored his second conversion of the game.

Clarkton, now 2-0, will travel to Elizabethtown Tuesday for a first-place showdown with the 2-0 Cougars.
