BLADENBORO – Bladenboro rolled to leads of 12-0 and 18-2 en route to a 30-8 season-opening Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball victory over Williams Township Thursday.

Hadley Dove buried a 3-point shot and another basket to spark the 1st period spurt. Allison Hickman tossed in a basket and 2 free throws, Adyson Carroll threw in a basket, and Addison Wilcox sank a free throw for the 12-0 lead.

Wilcox, Amiya McCarty and Maleigha Chatman popped in baskets in the 2nd quarter, and Maycee Kinlaw, Kristen Singletary, Hickman and Wilcox dropped in baskets as the lead grew to 26-4 in the 3rd quarter.

Carroll rang up 2 more baskets in the final period to finish with 6 points and share scoring honors with Hickman who also tallied 6. Dove and Wilcox followed with 5 points each.

J. Williams and L. Martinez scored 4 points each for Williams.

Bladenboro will travel to Tar Heel Tuesday.
