NAKINA – Tiekeriah Tisdale bombed in a pair of 3-point shots in the final quarter that lifted Clarkton School of Discovery to a 21-12 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball victory over Nakina Tuesday.

Tisdale’s pair of 3-balls plus a Rahnyiah McLean basket sparked an 8-0 Lady Blue Devil closing run that broke open a 13-12 game.

Clarkton had rolled to a 9-2 lead to start the game as Aniya Willis popped in a pair of baskets, McLean sank a basket and a free throw, and Hailey Taylor added a basket.

Nakina rallied to within 9-7 at halftime behind a pair of Addison Faulk baskets. Riley Suggs drained a 3-point shot in the 3rd quarter as the Lady Mustangs cut the margin to one point.

Tisdale and Kynzlee Woods tossed in a basket each in the 3rd quarter to keep Clarkton on top. Tisdale led the Lady Blue Devils with 8 points, and McLean followed with 5 points. Willis tallied 4 points. Faulk led Nakina with 6 points.

The Lady Blue Devils, now 2-1, will visit Elizabethtown Thursday.
