CLARKTON- Cabria Baldwin sparked a 13-4 third quarter spurt that propelled Clarkton School of Discovery to a 30-20 Waccamaw Middle School Conference victory over Acme-Delco Thursday.

The Lady Blue Devils led 13-9 when Baldwin threw in 3 baskets in the third quarter. Alaya White nailed a 3-point shot, and Addie Bowen and Gabby Nealy tossed in baskets as the Clarkton lead grew to 26-13.

Shy’Asia Ratliff worked the paint for 2 baskets in the final quarter and led the Lady Blue Devils with 7 points. Baldwin finished with 6 points, and White and Bowen totaled 5 points each.

Molly Evans pumped in 2 first period baskets, White popped in a basket, and Bowen hit a free throw to keep the Lady Blue Devils even at 7-7. Ratliff dropped in a basket and a free throw in the second quarter. Bowen netted a basket, and Nealy made a free throw as CSD took the 13-9 halftime lead.

M. Hines drained a pair of 3-point shots and scored 16 of Acme-Delco’s 20 points.

Coach Chris Callihan’s Lady Blue Devils improved to 3-0 in Waccamaw Division A play and are 3-1 overall. Clarkton will travel to Hallsboro Monday.
