WHITEVILLE – Williams Township rallied for two 2nd half goals to edge Tar Heel 2-1 Tuesday in non-conference girls’ soccer action.
After a scoreless 1st half, Tar Heel’s Jazmy Funez fired in a goal early in the 2nd half to stake the Lady Panthers to an early 1-0 lead.
Williams battled back with a hard shot that ricocheted off a pair of defenders and found the back of the net to tie the score 1-1. The Lady Aggies capitalized on a penalty kick late in the game for the deciding goal.
Tar Heel will travel to Tabor City Thursday.
