West Bladen High School LogoBLADENBORO – Rylee Chadwick pitched a 3-inning no-hitter and struck out 9 out of 10 batters to lead Bladenboro to a 16-0 Bladen Five Middle School Conference softball victory over Tar Heel.

Kylie drew a one-out walk in the third inning to account for the only Tar Heel base-runner.

Chadwick ripped a single to left and scored as Amber Hickman reached base on an error to give Bladenboro a 1-0 first inning lead.

The Lady Bulldogs exploded for ten runs in the second inning. Emma Smith reached base on an error, Kylee Ward was hit by a pith, and Kylee Wilkins walked. Hannah Hester belted a single that scored Smith and Ward.

Chadwick reached base on an error as Wilkins scored, and McKenzie Singletary was safe on an error that brought home Hester. Hickman slammed a double that scored Chadwick. Megan West dumped a single over second that drove in Singletary and Hickman.

Smith was hit by a pitch, and Natalie Ludlum knocked in Megan West with a single. Walks to Ward and Wilkins forced home Smith. Hester was hit by a pitch that forced home Ludlum to grow the lead to 11-0.

Chadwick beat out a bunt single in the third inning and scampered home when Hannah Pait smacked a single. Taylor West and Savannah Turbeville both reached base on errors as Hannah Pait scored.

Lainey Autry was hit by a pitch, and Ward reached base on an error. Kaden Thurman’s fielder’s choice plated Taylor West, and Lauren Pait raked a single to left that scored Turbeville and Autry and ended the game on the mercy rule.

Chadwick batted 2-3 with 3 runs scored. Hickman doubled, scored a run and had a run batted in. Hester singled, scored a run and had 3 rbi’s. Megan West singled, scored a run and had 2 rbi’s.

Lauren Pait, Hannah Pait, and Ludlum had one hit each. Smith and Ward scored 2 runs each, and Singletary, Hannah Pait, Taylor West, Turbeville, Autry, Wilkins and Ludlum scored one run each. Lauren Pait had 2 rbi’s, and Hannah Pait, Wilkins, Ludlum and Thurman had one rbi each.

Coach Steve Thurman’s Lady Bulldogs improved to 3-1 with the win and moved into a first-place tie. Bladenboro will host Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday. Tar Heel will entertain Elizabethtown Thursday.
