CLARKTON – Tatum Allen and Gracey Edwards teamed up pitch a 1-hitter and strike out 7 batters as Emereau Bladen defeated Clarkton School of Discovery 18-3 Tuesday in non-conference softball action.

Allen pitched 3 innings and allowed 3 runs on a hit, 5 walks and a hit batter while striking out 5. Edwards relieved in the 4th inning and walked 2 and struck out 2 in her scoreless inning.

Edwards batted 2-for-3 with a walk and scored 3 runs. Jaimee Perkins slammed a double, was hit by a pitch and scored 2 runs. Taylor Dowless singled, walked and scored 3 runs. Allen singled, walked twice and scored 2 runs.

Emma Fisher and Addison Douglas connected for 1 hit each for the Lady Aviators. Emma Fisher scored 2 runs, and Sierra Thompson, Mollie Sasser, Sadee Brown, Abby Dicicco, Chloe Merritt and Emma Adams scored 1 run each.

The Lady Aviators capitalized on 12 walks, 8 hits, 2 hit batters and 6 errors to score their 18 runs.

Kynzlee Wood walked and scored a Clarkton run in the 1st inning. Jahzara Rouse smacked a single, and Melissa Sandoval walked in the Lady Blue Devil 3rd inning. Both Rouse and Sandoval scored.

The Lady Aviators, now 5-1, will travel to Clinton on Monday, April 17th to play Spirit of Life Academy. Clarkton will travel to Tabor City on Thursday, April 20th.
