NAKINA – Bladenboro’s Lady Bulldogs split a pair of Waccamaw Middle School Conference volleyball matches Monday night outlasting Williams Township 2-1 in their opening match before dropping a 2-0 decision to Nakina.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped their opening set to Williams 25-20 but roared back to even the match with a 25-12 win in the 2nd set. The Bladenboro momentum continued as the Lady Bulldogs claimed the deciding set 15-7.

Nakina posted a 25-11 win in their opening set against the Lady Bulldogs, but Bladenboro made it tougher in the 2nd set before dropping a 25-21 decision. “We almost had them,” said Lady Bulldog Coach Jessica Rhodes.

Bladenboro finishes conference play 4-4 and is 5-5 overall. The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Whiteville Thursday for non-conference matches against Elizabethtown and Whiteville Central.
