NEWBERRY, SC – West Bladen grad Morgan Sweeney belted a single and scored the deciding run as Newberry swept Lander 3-2 Tuesday to complete a double-header sweep.
Sweeney yanked a single through the left side in the second inning, stole second base and raced home on Natalie Willis’ single to give the Lady Wolves a 3-0 lead.
The Bladenboro native walked and stole a base in the first game that Newberry also won by an identical 3-2 score.
The Lady Wolves improved to 12-5 and will host St Augustine’s Saturday in a double-header that begins at 1 p.m.
