Clinton edged East Bladen 15-12 in the final set to claim a 3-2 NCHSAA Class 2-A Volleyball Play-off opening round victory at Clinton Saturday night.
After Clinton took the first set 25-20, the Lady Eagles fought back to win the next two sets 25-20 and 25-19 and take a 2-1 lead. The Lady Dark Horses evened the match 2-2 with a 25-16 victory in the fourth set.
The Lady Dark Horses who won the Four County Conference championship were the No. 7 seed in the Class 2-A East and will host No. 10 seed First Flight in the second round.
The Lady Eagles had won 8 of their previous 9 matches to claim the third play-off spot from the Four County Conference. East Bladen finishes their season with a 12-9 record.
