TABOR CITY – South Park defeated Elizabethtown 17-3 Monday night in the bracket finals of the Dixie Youth Baseball North Carolina AA (Coach-Pitch) State Tournament.
South Park advanced to the championship series with the victory. Elizabethtown reached the ‘Final Four’ in the state tourney. Both of the Elizabethtown losses were to South Park.
All 3 Elizabethtown runs came in the second inning. Dawson Wright ripped a single to left-centerfield, and Davion Lewis hammered a double to rightfield. Ryan Dove’s fielder’s choice scored Wright.
Colton Daly laced a single to left-centerfield that drove in Davion Lewis. Ahmarie White smacked a single to centerfield, and C. J. McCracken beat out an infield hit to load the bases. Easton Bostic belted a single to leftfield that drove in Daly.
Wright batted 2-2 with a run scored, and Davion Lewis smashed the double and scored a run. Sholar, Daly, White, McCracken, Bostic and Isaiah Robinson connected for one hit each.
Daly scored a run and drove one in. Dove and Bostic drove in one run each.
