Purdie turned a J. R. Washington assist into a driving lay-up and a 3-point play that tied the game 60-60 at the 1:54 mark. With 8 seconds left Purdie made 2 free throws that padded the Bearcat lead to 67-64.
For the game Purdie connected on 7 of 12 shots from the field and nailed 4 of 6 three-point attempts. The West Bladen grad made 4 of 5 foul shots and also dished out 3 assists.
Purdie bombed in a pair of 3-point shots in the first half and added a free throw. After intermission he popped in another jumper and buried a 3-pointer with 9:52 remaining.
The Bearcats evened their record at 3-3 and will travel to Wingate Monday for a 7 p.m. game.Share:
