TABOR CITY –Senior Peyton Duncan pitched a no-hitter and struck out 11 batters to lead South Columbus to an 11-0 non-conference softball victory over East Bladen Friday night.

Bella Coleman’s triple keyed a 5-run 1st inning for the Lady Stallions. South added 3 runs in the 3rd inning and 3 more in the 4th inning. Olivia Watts doubled in the 3rd inning, and Elizabeth Strickland tripled in the 4th inning.

Sophomore Laura Davidson pitched all 4 innings for East Bladen and allowed 7 hits and 1 walk, while striking out one. Junior Karli Priest and freshmen Mollie Tolar and Mary Frances Sutton drew walks to account for the only baserunners against Duncan.

It was the season-opener for the Lady Eagles who will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game.
