TARBORO- Bladen County scored in every inning Saturday morning to post a 12-2 run-rule victory over Warren County in the State-Wide Activities Committee 16-and-Under State Softball Tournament.

Warren County turned a hit and an error into an early 2-0 lead, but Bladen County tied the game 2-2 in the home half of the first inning. Lead-off batter Johanna Parker walloped a triple and scored the first Bladen run.

Jordan Kinlaw laced a 2-out single, and Nesiah Davis-McKoy clobbered a triple that drove in Sara Corriveau, the courtesy runner for Kinlaw, and tied the score.

Amelia Brisson led off the second inning with a hit, Natalie Ludlum was hit by a pitch, and Parker walked. Alyssa Suggs’ fielder’s choice scored Brisson with the go-ahead run, and Ludlum sprinted home on a passed ball.

Kinlaw connected for another single that scored Suggs, and Hannah Pait dashed home on a passed ball to pad the Bladen lead to 6-2.

Brisson and Ludlum drew walks in the Bladen third inning, and Parker was hit by a pitch. Suggs delivered a single that scored Brisson, and Hannah Pait was hit by a pitch that forced home Ludlum.

Kinlaw knocked in Parker with a single. Davis-McKoy drew a walk that scored Suggs, and Carlie West’s fielder’s choice scored Hannah Pait to stretch the Bladen lead to 11-2.

Briley Stanley walked to begin the Bladen fourth inning, stole second base and raced home on Lauren Pait’s single to end the game on the mercy rule.

Kinlaw pitched a 5-hitter and struck out 4 batters to pick up the pitching victory. At the plate Kinlaw batted a perfect 3-3 with 2 runs batted in. Parker hammered the triple and scored twice. Davis-McKoy slugged a triple and drove in 2 runs.

Suggs and Lauren Pait added one hit each to the Bladen attack. Suggs, Hannah Pait, West and Lauren Pait drove in runs. Suggs, Hannah Pait, Brisson and Ludlum scored 2 runs each. Stanley and Corriveau scored one run each.
