ELIZABETHTOWN – West Bladen sophomores Kaden Thurman & Lainey Autry won the Three Rivers Conference Doubles Championship Wednesday as the TRC girls’ tennis tournament concluded at East Bladen.

Thurman (pictured on left) & Autry (pictured on right) defeated East Bladen seniors Lily Lin & Alyssa Futrell 6-3, 6-1 in the championship match. Both the Thurman/Autry and Lin/Futrell doubles teams have qualified for the Mid East Class 2A Regional to be played in Chapel Hill at Cedar Falls Park. Carrboro will be the regional host.

East Bladen’s doubles team of senior Carlie West & junior Heather Hardin defeated Whiteville’s Elizabeth Morris & Lillian Soles 6-2, 7-5 in Wednesday’s 3rd place match. West & Hardin have also qualified for the Mid East Class 2A Regional.

Fairmont’s Cambyl Scott rallied to defeat West Bladen senior Marley Fletcher 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 in a marathon 3rd place singles match Wednesday. Fletcher and Scott have both qualified for the Mid East Class 2A Regional along with Three Rivers singles champion Anna Smith of Whiteville and runner-up Addison Jacobs of South Columbus. Smith defeated Jacobs 6-0, 6-2 in the title match.
