ST PAULS – East Bladen’s girls finished second behind St. Pauls in a Robeson County track & field meet held Tuesday. The Eagle boys placed third in their meet.

The St. Pauls girls racked up 155 points followed by East Bladen (86), Red Springs (53), Fairmont (48) and South Robeson (23). The St. Pauls boys piled up 192.5 points followed by Fairmont (54), East Bladen (52.5), Red Springs (48.5) and South Robeson (18.5).

Winning events for the Lady Eagles were: sophomore Sammi Jiang in the 1600 meter run (6:20); junior Teronda Autry in the 400 meters (1:06); the 4×100 meter relay team (54.9); the 4×400 meter relay team (4:48).

Scoring second-place points for the East Bladen girls were: junior Alicia McKiver in the 400 meters (1:07.7);  junior Vianey Estrada in the 3200 meter run (16:59); junior Lakendra Jones in the discus (74-0); and both the 4×800 (12:52) and 4×200 meter (1:57.3) relay teams. Jones also finished third in the shot put (26-02).

Fourth place finishers for the Lady Eagles included: sophomore Makia Johnson in both the 100 meter (13.6) and 200 meter (29.2) dashes; sophomore Hannah Wheeles in the 3200 meter run (21:40) and freshman Tatianna McElveen in the shot put (26-0).

Securing fifth-place points for the East Bladen girls were: Estrada in the 1600 meter run (7:10) and sophomore Lexus Smith in both the discus (65-03) and shot put (25-09). Sixth-place finishers were: freshman Aniya McKoy in the 100 meter dash (14.0) and junior Vena Metz in the 1600 meter run (7:33).

Eagle sophomore A. J. Smith scored second-place points in the boys 1600 meters (5:09) and tallied third place points in the 800 meters (2:21).

The East Bladen 4×800 meter (9:54) and the 4×400 meter (4:01) relay teams finished second in their events.

Racking up third place points for the Eagles were: Deonte Johnson in the 100 meter dash (11.7); the 4×200 meter relay team (1:38); junior Za’Quis Leach in the 200 meter dash (24.0);  junior Efren Vargas in the 3200 meter run (13:39).

Junior Tayshaun Berkeley placed fourth in the 400 meters (58.5), and junior Kaleb Robbins was fourth in the triple jump (29-10).

Sophomore Damondta Smith finished fifth in the 400 meters (1:00.2). Junior Wisdom Northern placed fifth in the triple jump (29-03) and was sixth in both the high jump (5-02) and long jump (16-02).

Freshman Timothy McLean secured sixth place points for the Eagles in the 200 meter dash (25.4) and junior David Rohrbacher was sixth in the triple jump (27-10).
