ELIZABETHTOWN – West Bladen’s Knights won their first Three Rivers Conference golf match of the season Monday posting a team score of 357 that beat six-match winner South Columbus’ total of 363 in the final regular season match at Vineyard Golf at White Lake.

West Bladen’s Wyatt Bordeaux fired an 85 to finish second in the medalist race by a single stroke to the Stallions’ Caleb Click (84). West Bladen’s Chad Garner and John Brust both carded 88’s to tie for fourth-place in the individual competition. Devin Smith shot a 92 to finish seventh individually for the Knights. Teammate Jared Storms had a 112.

East Bladen’s Eagles finished third in the team competition with a 410 that was their best score of the season. Nick Norris led the Eagles with a 96 that placed him tied for eleventh in the individual scoring.

Alex Avellaende was right behind Norris with a 98 for the Eagles. Teammate Jayson Baxter carded a 101, and Chance Hester shot a 115.

Whiteville finished a stroke behind the Eagles with a 411. West Columbus and St. Pauls tied for fifth place with 415 totals.

Fairmont, Red Springs and South Robeson only brought two golfers each, so none of those teams could compete in the team competition.

The Three Rivers Conference championship match will be Tuesday at Land O Lakes.
