COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina turned a trio of pass interceptions into 21 points en route to a 30-22 Southeastern Conference football victory over Auburn Saturday.

Former West Bladen star Brandon Council started and played the entire game at right guard for the Tigers. Council had several key blocks on the Tigers 75-yard touchdown drive in the second quarter that resulted in a 16-7 Auburn lead.

The Tiger offensive line paved the way for an attack that racked up 27 first downs, rushed for 209 yards and passed for 272 yards (481 total yards).

“They (South Carolina) have some big-time pass rushers,” said Auburn Coach Gus Malzahn. “But I thought while we were mixing in the run and the pass, our guys did a solid job. We kept the same five guys out there (on the offensive line). I think now you’ll see that group be able to grow and be able to improve.”

Auburn, now 2-2, will travel to Mississippi next Saturday for a 12 noon EDT kickoff.
