Kayla Gutierrez, granddaughter of Vineyard Golf’s owner Patricia Augustine, has recently penned an article for PGA.Com. The article is entitled “The Journey To Become A PGA Professional: The PGA Mentor Program Connects Students with PGA Coaches.”

Kayla, a student at FGCU, has been attending the university with an eye to a future in professional golf. While in high school in New Jersey Kayla participated in many golf tournaments.

“It doesn’t get much better than FGCU if you’re pursuing a golf-related career. Our golf management
program is one of only 18 PGA-accredited programs in the country and the only one in Florida,” states Kayla.

The 4- to 4½-year curriculum provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed as golf professionals in a variety of careers.

Upon completion of the university’s requirements, PGA requirements and 16 months of internship, students are eligible to become Class A PGA members upon graduation.
