ELIZABETHTOWN – St. Pauls edged East Bladen 17-15 in the final set Tuesday to claim a 3-2 Three Rivers Conference volleyball victory by set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 25-8 and 17-15.

Sophmore Kayleigh Raynor fired in 6 straight service points to rally the Lady Eagles to a 13-10 lead in the first set. Two service points each from sophmore Katie Evans and junior Cybil Campbell kept East ahead 21-20 before a 5-2 St. Pauls run took the set.

Junior Lorna Mendell gave the Lady Eagles an early 5-4 lead in Set 2. Senior Sarah Johnson knocked in ten consecutive service points that opened up a 21-9 East lead. St. Pauls rallied to pull even at 23-23 before Mendell served out the set.

Raynor and Johnson rallied East Bladen to within 14-9 in the third set with 2 service points each, before Ruth Ward pounded in 9 straight service points to vault East ahead 22-21. After a side-out, junior Gracyn Martin served out the set.

St. Pauls rolled through the fourth set. A pair of service points from Cybil Campbell kept East within 4-3 in the final set. Raynor reeled off 6 straight service points to put the Lady Eagles ahead 12-8, but a 9-3 Lady Bulldog run closed out the match.

Raynor topped the Lady Eagle servers with 16 service points, Johnson hammered in 13 service points and Ward totaled 10 service points. Mendell, Martin and Campbell finished with 5 service points each, and Evans added 4 service points.

East Bladen will travel to East Columbus Thursday for a 4:30 match.
