BLADENBORO – West Bladen closed out their volleyball season Saturday morning with a 3-1 Southeastern Athletic Conference victory over Red Springs by set scores of 25-7, 25-19, 22-25 and 25-17.
Junior Whitney McLean drilled in 12 kills, 5 aces and 7 service points to lead the Lady Knights. Junior Makayla Wright slammed in 10 kills, 1 ace, 3 service points, 1 block and had 1 dig. Sophomore Trinity Meares hammered in 5 kills, 4 blocks, 4 service points and 2 aces. Shanyla Hunter was credited with 2 digs.
Sophomore Maddie Walters keyed the West Bladen attack with 7 assists, 7 service points, 4 kills and 3 aces. Sophomore Jenna McLean fired in 8 service points, 4 aces and had 4 assists. Senior Caroline Brisson pounded in 6 aces and 7 service points. Senior Kayla Norris knocked in 3 kills and 2 service points. Kaitlyn Brisson added 1 kill.
Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights concluded their season with a 3-9 record in the SAC-7 and a 4-13 overall mark.
