ELIZABETHTOWN – West Bladen’s doubles team of juniors Autumn Brisson and Alyssa Bell won the Three Rivers Conference tennis doubles championship Friday.

Brisson and Bell were the top-seeded doubles team and defeated the second-seeded doubles team, South Columbus’ Cartrette and Lewis, 6-3, 6-2 in the championship match.

East Bladen’s doubles team of Ting Lin and Ashley Hardin also qualified for the MidEast Regionals by finishing fourth in the conference tournament. The top four doubles teams qualified for the regionals.

In opening round play, Ting Lin & Hardin defeated Red Springs’ Alexandra Macias & Francisca Meneses. The West Bladen team of Mireya Sandoval & Alyssa Smith defeated Fairmont’s Ashlyn Turner & Kiley Oxendine. East Bladen’s Anna Kate White & Lily Lin defeated Fairmont’s Mikiyah Hunt & Eva Karolie 6-0, 6-1

In second round play, Brisson & Bell defeated Whiteville’s Barnhill & Smith 6-1, 6-2. Ting Lin & Hardin defeated Sandoval & Smith 6-2, 6-4. Red Springs’ Stephanie Alejandro &  Hermelinda Mendoza defeated White & Lily Lin 6-3, 6-4.

Brisson & Bell defeated Ting Lin & Hardin 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the championship match.  In a match to decide third place, Alejandro & Mendoza defeated Ting Lin & Hardin 6-2, 6-6 (7-9), 6-2.

The MidEast Regionals will be played at Jaycee Park in Reidsville on October 19 and 20th and will be hosted by Reidsville High School.
