East Bladen’s Eagles (10-8) travel to Siler City Thursday to battle unbeaten Jordan-Matthews (18-0-1) in a 2nd round NCHSAA Class 2A Boys’ Soccer playoff game that will begin at 6 p.m. Cash can be used to buy tickets at the gate.

Junior Malcolm Bolden poured in his 6th ‘Hat Trick’ of the season scoring 4 goals in the Eagles 4-1 1st round win over No. 13 seed Research Triangle High. Bolden leads the East Bladen scoring with 27 goals in 17 games and has also delivered 6 assists.

Sophomore Lee Barnes has recorded 6 shutouts in goal for the Eagles and has racked up 127 saves in 17 games.

Jordan-Matthews captured the championship of the Mid-Carolina 1A/2A with a 7-0 record in league play. The Jets tied Mid-Piedmont Class 3A champion Asheboro in their 2nd game of the season for the only blemish on their record.

Since that tie, Coach Paul Cuadros’ high-scoring Jets have reeled off 17 wins in a row and had a streak of scoring 6 goals or more in 12 consecutive games, before claiming 3-1 wins over Graham then Southwest Onslow in their playoff opener.

Juniors Zander Ocampo and Paul Lujan and seniors Irvin Campos and Alexis Ibarra key the attack for the 6th-seeded Jets.
